As part of the Norway-funded ‘Reducing Media Bias in Armenia and Turkey’ project, two partners of EPF – Global Political Trends Center (GPOT, Turkey) and Journalists’ Team for Sustainable Future (JTSF, Armenia) – conducted a ‘media bias’ research in Armenia and Turkey. The research consisted of media content analysis and focus groups with general population, civil society representatives, and media experts. The study aimed at increasing awareness among media-related stakeholders of the major trends in the level of bias and accuracy in mass-media reporting in Armenia and Turkey about bi-lateral issues, as well as will make it possible to inform general public in both countries about mutual media bias through media outlets participating in the program.
The results of the research were discussed by more than 25 Armenian and Turkish media figures during a bi-lateral workshop in Bursa, Turkey in October 2009.
