Eurasia Partnership Foundation has completed an open competition entitled “New content through new technologies” as part of its “Alternative Resources in Media” program, which is jointly being implemented by the “Internews Network” (USA), Eurasia Partnership Foundation, the Yerevan Press Club and the “Internews Media Support” NGO. The program is made possible by the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The goal of the “Alternative Resources in Media” program is to build strong foundations for the development of alternative media and new ways of information dissemination, to affect positively the long-term growth of democratic behavior in Armenia.
The competition follows a three-tier approach:
• Preparation of innovative content on television, print, radio and online media outlets, and/or the use of multi-media platforms to make such content accessible to an audience using the most diverse of approaches as possible.
• Development of citizen journalism – blogs, social networks, video-audio information conveyed via cell phones.
• Production of video materials – preparation of documentary films, video material, public social announcements.
The Expert panel selected the following organizations as finalists for the competition.
Projects recommended for funding may undergo further revisions based on expert panel recommendations.

Ten young filmmakers from Armenia and Turkey participated in the Armenia-Turkey Cinema Platform (ATCP) workshop held in Istanbul on April 12-13, 2012 on the sidelines of the 31st Istanbul International Film Festival. The participating film projects, five per country, were handpicked by the ATCP pre-selection committee from among 35 applications.
