A final presentation of the program Lowering the Risk of Corruption in Traffic and Road Safety will take place at the Congress Hotel in Yerevan on July 31, 2008 at 12:00. The NGO Achilles Society for Defense of Drivers Rights has implemented the program with the support of Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF) and funding from USAID.

Program outcomes will be summarized, and achievements and obstacles will be presented at the event. Remarks will be delivered by Mr. P. Shahinyan, director of National Road Safety Council, and Mr. Eduard Hovhannisyan, president of Achilles.

“The important and inevitable way to sharply lower the risk of corruption is cooperation between state authorities and non-governmental organizations,” says Mr. Hovhannisyan of Achilles.

The project is a part of EPF’s Anticorruption program, which aims to increase the role of Armenia’s government, civil society organizations and media in the fight against corruption.
