Yerevan, Armenia – A series of presentations based on a study of public perceptions of media will be held in Yerevan between July 12-25, 2011. The study consists of a public opinion survey, focus-group discussions and in-depth interviews. The study was conducted by Eurasia Partnership Foundation’s (EPF) Caucasus Research Resource Centers (CRRC) within the framework of the USAID funded Alternative Resources in Media (ARM) program. The study’s results will be presented to target audiences, including media, civil society, business, government and international community representatives.
The study portrays the Armenian media landscape through the eyes of an average Armenian as well as a media professional; it provides data on media preferences, media-related attitudes and insights into specific topics, such as perceived level of media independence, media consumption patterns, and alternative media.
The schedule of presentations is as follows:
•July 12, 11:00am at Congress Hotel, Picasso Hall – presentation for media representatives
•July 14, 11:00am at Congress Hotel, Picasso Hall – presentation for local non-
governmental organizations, social activists and citizen journalists
•July 18, 11:00am at Congress Hotel, Picasso Hall – presentation for business and government representatives
•July 25, EPF Conference Room (Zarobyan street 56) – presentation for international organizations and diplomatic corps.
The Alternative Resources in Media (ARM) program aims at enhancing and improving access to pluralistic and unbiased information in Armenia via traditional and alternative media through the use of new information technologies. The ARM program is implemented by Internews Network in partnership with Internews Media Support NGO, Yerevan Press Club and Eurasia Partnership Foundation. The program is made possible by the support of the American People through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Ten young filmmakers from Armenia and Turkey participated in the Armenia-Turkey Cinema Platform (ATCP) workshop held in Istanbul on April 12-13, 2012 on the sidelines of the 31st Istanbul International Film Festival. The participating film projects, five per country, were handpicked by the ATCP pre-selection committee from among 35 applications.
